6/6 Las condiciones precarias de trabajo de los repartidores de comida no son un problema nuevo (ni tampoco limitado a China), pero la pandemia de COVID ha definitivamente acentuado aún más la desigualdad que viven estos trabajadores.

5/6 Después de que fotos como esta se hayan vuelto virales, las plataformas de delivery anunciaron que iban a proveer alojamiento en hoteles para miles de repartidores. Pero todavía se los ve a muchos en la calle, dependiendo de donaciones de comida.

4/6 En #Shanghai muchos repartidores están durmiendo en carpas, bajo puentes, en autos. La ciudad está bajo cuarentena hace más de 5 semanas y sus 25 millones de residentes dependen de los repartidores para conseguir comida y suministros básicos.

3/6 Durante la cuarentena impuesta en varias ciudades por el reciente brote de COVID, muchos repartidores han tenido que dormir en las calles, sin poder volver a las residencias en las que viven. Básicamente, si salís, no podés volver a entrar.

2/6 Hace poco conocí a Miao, un repartidor de 25 años que trabaja para Meituan, la plataforma de delivery más grande de China. Miao trabaja 14 horas por día y gana 10RMB (US$1.5) por pedido. La plata la usa para mantener a su familia que vive en Fuxin, al norte de Beijing

1/6 Más de 7 millones de personas trabajan como repartidores de comida en China. La mayoría son migrantes de zonas rurales que van a las ciudades para conseguir trabajo. Como migrantes, no tienen acceso a servicios sociales, que en China están vinculados al lugar de residencia

Esta semana #Beijing lanzó testeos masivos para sus 22 millones de habitantes. Hasta ahora se detectaron 142 casos. Varias escuelas pasaron a modalidad virtual y hay algunos barrios confinados. El gobierno busca evitar un brote como el de Shanghai.
