and so far its doing an amazing job of keeping me safe and filtering out harmful replies and accounts. Its about $120 for a full year and I'm thinking about upgrading. If you are interested in helping out you can support here
You don't get to have it both ways, and you are not a safe person nor an ally if this is the way you engage with people who hate us and uphold the status quo.
Case and point (sorry for the lack of alt on these, I'd have to transcribe them both but its a lot of text.) Essentially this person claims to be an ally, but only with the bare minimum and where it counts the least. They have zero issue engaging with someone misgendering someone
I'm bookmarking this y'all. Thank you! Next time someone's like "no one believes you, you're delusional" I have an entire thread of wonderful people to show them that they are in fact, WRONG.
Using the right pronouns for people and not deadnaming them is the bare minimum for respecting trans people. If you don't listen to what they are telling you, when you are reinforcing cisnormative practices, then you don't actually care about them in the way you think you do.
I cannot tell you how many times I've gone into a channel and its also picked a weird clip someone made of me standing up, bending over, adjusting myself, etc. It's also not fun as a viewer to have to sit there while these things go off one after another.
I'm with Emma 100% on this, video shoutouts can be incredibly triggering for dysphoria, or put people in a weird position if they are in a community that isn't predominantly trans or people they normally associate with. They are also extremely over stimulating.
Just a reminder that if you have video shoutouts on your channel, I tell you how dangerous they are to me and you refuse to either turn it off or stop shouting me out, that will be the last time I chat in your stream.
also find it weird yt trans women claiming i need feminism when i’ve been very vocal yt feminism is trash and the only feminism i listen to is black transfeminine theory
her cultures beliefs around death/cemeteries etc. I've never felt so welcome in a medical place before and I wish everyone could get to experience this because it is exactly how it should be. Even one of the other patients "ma'amed" me to let me know I needed to sign something.
Then I went to get a blood lab and the phlebotomist really liked my name and then she saw my mask which was pink with little goats on rainbows that says "Hail Satan". She was super into witchcraft and Sabrina, so we talked about that a lot, about Halloween, and even some about
got me a referral to finally see someone about getting on ADHD meds. We talked about potential surgeries I may want, dysphoria triggers, and started setting up a plan for some other meds I've been considering getting on.
She managed to fit me into the schedule and I was seen the next morning! There were no probing questions during intake, and when I finally got to talk with her, she asked me all sorts of affirming questions. Offered to help switch my HRT over to save a lot of money, and even
I had one of the best visits to a doctors office I have ever had as a trans woman. The entire time I was gendered correctly and I was heard, never talked over. I have a friend who just became an MD and had an opening which I was very thankful for.
Instead of talking about "cancel culture" lets talk about the literal cult of death that these people have created, because make no mistake that's what they want to happen to us, they want us dead.
Keep in mind all I did was take a screen shot, and say "hey friends maybe consider not supporting this. I didn't create some massive campaign, but simply relayed relevant information to other like minded people. If that's cancelling then maybe we SHOULD do more of it.
If you were able to transition in your childhood/teens, that is great and I'm happy for you. But recognize that for the privilege it is and how that might influence your perception of the experiences of other trans people.
"Why are you acting so immature, dressing like that, etc". The real question is, why are you gatekeeping how people explore this new reclamation of their identity?
It's okay to be a weird, strange, teenager brained trans person regardless of how old you are because some of us weren't able to transition in our childhood. Embrace it, go wild, experience that childhood you missed out on and don't let other people tell you how you should act.
I'm still working towards getting my face fully lasered and am so close to being done. If you are interested in helping make that happen, or you just wanna support the work I do on here, consider giving to my KoFi!
Since TERFs don't seem to understand how it works, freedom of speech protects you from the Government. It does not offer you some kind of shield against the response others will have when you say something wildly unpopular and quite frankly, abhorrent.
These people don't want rational discourse, they don't want to have a discussion or debate, they want to buy themselves enough time so their ideology can take root and then kill you with it.
But your platform clearly has a problem when the majority of harassment comes from an endless flood of sockpuppet accounts that regurgitate the same 5 comments and add nothing to the conversation.
Twitter doesn't need an edit button as much as it does filters on who you can permit to reply to your tweets. There are so many sock puppet accounts on here its unreal. If I could restrict by a few factors, I'd see so much less harassment.
