A Native Slur is trending again, so I figured I'd show you some 19th century newspaper clippings reporting on the government bounties for "Red Skins" A Sioux scalp like mine was worth about $25. And one of these articles refers to bounties for "papooses" which means babiespic.twitter.com/W7Z1gEzTbI
So a couple people asked where these are from. Newspapers. They casually reported this, I have about 20 examples, because it was a common. Some of the examples were from: St. Paul Daily Globe, 10/ 12/1885 The Butte Miner, 12/14/1897 Gold Hill Daily 3/29/1866
