Defeat the GOP’s Tweets

This is a good read, and it makes the same point I've been making all week in defense of . She's not saying, all of you should run on my platform. She's saying, Democrats are underfunding state parties and neglecting new media and WHATEVER our platform is, that's costing us.

Core reason why D Party branding, and messaging that boost trust in the brand, is so important: it enables you to shape public opinion and *do stuff.* Voters are not policy wonks. They follow parties they TRUST.

The “prioritize popular things” school doesn’t account for issues like court expansion and impeachment where public opinion follows elites. If Dems unify, it’ll become a 50-50 issue. If they let polls determine their position it’ll remain underwater and democracy will collapse. twitter.com/alexanderburns…

Reminder: is the Chief of Staff who masterminded the historically disastrous 2010 midterms strategy that handed GOP control of almost every lever of power in the USA. Literally the biggest loser, least successful strategist you could think of.

NYPD has stopped sharing a wide variety of paper records and has been redacting the names of potential witnesses without explanation. It has allowed officers to refuse to be interviewed by investigators. It often doesn’t produce body-worn camera footage.

C’mon ! The most important election of our lifetime is 89 days away & you’re stalling voting bills? Just sign! Now! It’s also been noticed you’ve stopped taking constituent calls-what’s that about?

4 bills to improve and expand early voting and absentee voting in NYS are on @NYGovCuomo’s desk, awaiting action. #WearAMask and sign them, Cuomo. twitter.com/NYGovCuomo/sta…

Maybe she remembers that time you got George W. Bush elected.

I sent @AOC the following letter suggesting ways she can broaden her progressive impact and help many people now that she is in the media spotlight. She has not replied, despite repeated requests. Can anybody help us get AOC to respond? -R nader.org/2020/07/31/ral

Thinking a lot here about how de Blasio treated Barbot & disrespected her into resignation while Dermot Shea regularly undermines the mayor, says false & misleading things, can't get his police force to wear face masks, & continues to get the mayor's full public respect & support

Hard to overstate how happy the triumphant NY primary season has made me. This is a sea-change. The ownership of Albany by reactionary special interests is being replaced by community representation of integrity and competence. (Also: people are voting in local races!)

NYT collected 64 videos of extreme violence committed by the NYPD in the first 2 weeks of the protests. In this same period, NYC taxpayers paid NYPD officers *$115 million* in overtime. To assault, maim, choke, beat, & terrorize protestors. We need to talk.nytimes.com/interactive/20

2/ Yes, this has been a major challenge for every leader, but New York's leaders do not have a success story to tell. It's been about missteps and late actions. From April: "How Delays and Unheeded Warnings Hindered New York's Virus Fight"

NY state has lost more than 32,000 lives to COVID-19. So while it's great that the numbers have gone down, it's perplexing to see crowing, Cuomo going on Fallon, etc. No other state has lost as many lives, not even close. New Jersey is next with 17,000+

"Fighting the white-collar crime spree" is a no-brainer for Dems.
Quote Tweet
Matt snarks here but Dems have failed rhetorically to make white collar crime a "law and order" issue, highlighting that illegal polluters and OSHA violaters kill more people than street criminals - and wage theft and banks steals more money than burglars & shoplifters.

. and his volunteers have already contacted more than *350,000* Dems who recently moved to Texas but haven't registered to vote yet. Not sure people appreciate how insane that number is. That organizing strength is going to be a game-changer.

I understand this sentiment, but it lets GOP off the hook. Trump won the GOP primary. Over 90% of Rs support him. He is the dream Republican. We cannot allow Rs to wriggle out of this and start over again with a clean slate. GOP is and remains unAmerican and unfit for power.

No. He's not a Republican either. He's a Trumpist
