I can’t remember an era when cycling has been as strong and captivating all-round as it is now. Men, women, road, CX, track, the level’s so high, the crowds so big, the spectacle is so extraordinarily good. Be interesting to see where Netflix takes it

An MPs salary is £84,144 (plus lots of expenses that can be claimed, subsidised meals etc). Ministers are paid an additional £72,454 (most have additional payments and directorships) these are the people commenting on why everyone else needs to tighten their belts and cut back

The Princess of Wales looks to be launching a sincere & thoughtful campaign, but it's kind of wild that Sure Start was an evidence-based solution to the problems she's raising, was evaluated and found to be wonderfully successful, and we're sort of pretending it wasn't cut.

Does ANYONE think this is a coincidence? We are now constantly discussing whether a free* NHS is financially sustainable, after 3 years of the Tories literally stealing billions from the NHS budget via dodgy contracts. WEIRD, HUH! 🤯

Your periodic reminder that "obsolete" road bikes are cheap, you don't need to wear the stretchy stuff, and that while gravel and dirt may require lots of driving most of us are surrounded by paved roads. Road riding isn't elitist, it's the most accessible form of cycling.

The Home Office is not Suella Braverman's personal office. It is wholly inappropriate for a politically neutral government department, responsible for enforcing the law, to request a private organisation takes an unflattering video of their Secretary of State down.

Since the footage misrepresents the interaction about a sensitive area of policy, we have asked the organisation who posted the video to take it down. (3/3)

📞 The Home Office asked us to take down our video. But we are standing our ground. 🎥 Full video here so you can see for yourself how Braverman responded to Joan: freedomfromtorture.org/holocaust-surv

“I will not apologise,” Braverman tells Joan, a Holocaust survivor. A moral low point, wouldn’t you agree? #RefugeesWelcome twitter.com/FreefromTortur…

Wonderful writing! "We recognise the life-affirming beauty of imperfection, and the impossible rarity of victory. And our patron saint is Thibaut Pinot."

Wrote this about Thibaut Pinot last summer. I think it still stands. Also spot the deliberate factual error 😣 rouleur.cc/blogs/the-roul
MPs just voted on a motion to remove private schools' £1,700,000,000 tax break. That could pay for free school meals for *all* primary school pupils almost twice over. But Tory MPs voted it down, choosing to protect elite private schools, not improve opportunities for all kids.
