I have had to explain to my wife what “incels” are. Not the misogyny part, obviously. She knows about that better than I ever could, but the vile internet group part. These tragedies are brewing. The radicalisation of men online is a significant and serious problem.
Again, obviously, the extent of the misogyny was not a surprise to her. But the society of it, the self-reinforcement, the whipped up group-hate was a real surprise. Showing her @DavidFutrelle ‘s record of incel etc misogyny was an eye opener.

Equally obviously, tragedy and atrocity are not educators. Everyone’s sympathies are with the families and friends of the victims, and the victims themselves. I must confess I have no idea how to address the issue.
