It's not about the word "motherfucker". It's the way she used it that people are upset about. I personally love the word fuck but to call someone a motherfucker shows hate towards that person. Trump's supporters are upset with her for attacking @realDonaldTrump.

@realDonaldTrump does nothing but attack anyone he dislikes, be it shithole countries, son of a bitch football players, or even physically disabled reporters. The idea of a Trump supporter being upset that someone said something mean about him is beyond hypocrisy.

Trump said this as a private citizen, many years before he was President of the USA. There is a difference between what you say publicly, while in office, and what someone said years earlier. Also, he was directing his language at an adversary of the USA, not a sitting POTUS.

Then replace it with Elected Official Trump's "shithole countries" remark. Or when he called football players who kneel "son of a bitch". Or any of his many insulting and derogatory nicknames (far too many to list in a single tweet) for anyone he disagrees with.
