45% of people serving life sentences under the Three Strikes law are black. Gang enhancements have been widely criticized as unfairly targeting black and brown populations. We are ending these practices because they don’t work and they make us less safe.

The second policy is to presumptively stop charging possession of contraband crimes when the search stemmed from a “pretextual stop”. Like stop and frisk policies, pretextual stops disproportionately impact black & brown individuals and decreases public safety.

A lot of people are labeled violent offenders because of laws that mandate everyone involved in the crime must be charged with the same thing. Codefendant shot a man, I drove car, I was 17, I have life for murder.

If this wonderful nation could dig down in the depths of it's soul as it reflects on it's own violent past, and find the compassion and forgiveness to grant me a 2nd chance, I most certainly wouldn't make the same blind decisions I made as a 17 year old.

The question should be why did Amy Guyger only get 10 years, elgible for parole in 5 for murdering someone in their own home?

Without any guns they manufacture, over no drugs they manufacture, in communties where the average household income is much lower than others. Most crime in black communities are related to failed policies signed by politicians who don't have the best interest of the community.
