President Trump told a group of lawmakers this week he can't accept Democrats' offer to re-open the government as the two sides negotiate border wall funding because he "would look foolish if I did that," according to a person familiar with the exchange

I call bullshit. I'm pretty sure that my son, on active duty in the Coast Guard, would like to get his paycheck on 1/15/2019. I'm pretty sure that the federal workers and their families would like to pay for food, gas, housing...you know....luxuries. FFS, when is ENOUGH enough?

These “military eminent domain” cases are all about seizing enemy property or property about to fall into enemy hands. Last time I checked, the United States wasn’t at war with ranchers in California, Arizona, New Mexico, or Texas.

    Replying to and

That is the point or at least a big part. HR 1 will also put pressure on moderate GOP Senators up for election in 2020. Make them feel it. Make McConnell explain why he won't give it a vote. This isn't some meaningless ACA repeal vote.

Bill introduced by House Democrats will do much to protect our democracy. It will curtail partisan Congressional gerrymandering among other things. Once passed by the House the Senate must also pass. This is good for America.

The government should work . will reduce the role of big money in politics and make it easier to vote. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard in our democracy, and I’m proud to help lead this bill.

We need a lifetime ban on lobbying for members of Congress. And fix the swiss cheese def of “lobbying” so anyone who gets paid to influence Washington has to register. Public service shouldn’t be a launching pad for guys like & to enrich themselves.

. foamed at the mouth with power in Congress, then retired because he claimed he didn't enjoy it. Now it’s clear: Trey Gowdy just wanted a fat lobbyist paycheck. That should be illegal.

QUESTION: To those who argue you can't indict/arrest a sitting president (and the only means of removal is impeachment or 25th amendment), what if he lined up 50 people and started shooting one every ten minutes?

You have to live in some kind of fantasy land to think that people can survive week by week without their regular paycheck. And you have to be even more delusional to think landlords will show any leniency as it relates to the rent being due. These guys are out of touch.

This list of insults from the President’s Twitter account highlights just how much Congress ignored for two years. It’s not the insults alone, it’s that they are consistent with his handling of the job and his disrespect for the Office of the President.
