Will ask 4 relief 4 minority faculty required 2 do more work, eg those serving on more committees 2 represent the black voice of science. 3/

I serve on college diversity committee. Will work 2 establish policies that all depts must follow to recruit & retain diverse faculty. 4/

I will work every day 2 confront my own stereotypes & call them out publicly so other white people feel comfortable confronting theirs. 5/

I will seek expert advice when I provide guidance 2 USF's diversity committee 2 make sure our actions R effective & that we evaluate them.6/

I will recognize that as an ally, I will (continue to) make mistakes. I will learn from them. 7/

I will ask POC for advice but not require that they justify their suggestions or explain the history of racism to me. 8/

And if I ever witness violent words or actions perpetrated against my students, colleagues, or other POC, I will step in. 10/

I have decided to require implicit bias training for all new field crew leaders, postdocs and graduate students. I’m not sure what resources the university has available to me—does anyone know of some good publicly available resources I can use?
