no idea. computer freezes randomly 0-4 times per day, have done a massive amount of debugging. finally, swapping out the ram to the one from my streaming PC did the trick it seems (no freeze for 3 days), so, yeah, pretty sure it's the ram

I'll be honest, I've seen a lot more RAM die than motherboards over the years, both on personal and company machines.

Really? I’ve “broken” RAM several times over the years and never once fried a motherboard. RAM is a fairly high stress item (heat) and RAM is unstable by design. memtest86 is a godsend. 99% of the time if it doesn’t find a problem within 5m the RAM will pass a 24h test.
