    Bit saddened at how often MARTYRS is listed. It really illustrates how slapping a label like “torture porn” on a film can hurt. It’s one of my favs and has so much to say ABOUT pain, the struggle to have agency with it, how others try to profit off suffering, and yes, friendship.

    I hate that my headcanon for Mandeville now includes some of the non-Godwin-authored fanfiction fourth volume. But after reading it, I can't not believe that Mandeville was born on Guy Fawkes' Day now. It's just so annoyingly appropriate.

    I watched A Marriage Story finally. The acting was superb. Kind of have mixed feelings about the way the film shifted almost solely to Charlie’s POV in the second half, though. Feel it would have been stronger if it had been more even-handed in the perspectives it presented.
