I want to thank Heather Grives, the 911 emergency dispatcher who took the call and acted quickly to get first responders on scene. We are so lucky to have 911 dispatchers who continue to go above and beyond for our City and its residents.

Today we broke ground on Mission Bay School - the first new school to be built within SFUSD in the last 10 years. This school will have programs for our 3 and 4-year-olds, classes for kids up to 5th grade, a learning hub for high school students, and more for this community.

The ambassadors we have out on our streets receive positive feedback from residents, merchant, and visitors. This includes our Welcome Ambassadors in their orange jackets, our Mid-Market/Tenderloin Ambassadors, and our Retired Police Ambassadors working in our neighborhoods.

We have a police staffing shortage in our City, and we need to be creative about how we address public safety, whether that's with ambassadors, civilian staff in our Police Department, or our Street Response Teams responding to those with mental health needs on our streets.

As we focus on making our city safer and more welcoming, today we announced we will be adding more ambassadors Downtown, including more attendants in our stations, as well as in neighborhoods. We will be adding another 150 ambassadors to the over 200 we already have.
