Building ADUs is one of the ONLY ways to build new rent controlled housing. My ADU working group legislation will cut through unnecessary red tape and help get these hundreds of units on the market ASAP. #endthebacklog

You need affordable covenants. I am on Berkeley’s ADU Task Force And once we educate about costs to build and then throw rent control and eviction protections on it, people freak out. Give them incentives to make it an affordable unit. Think outside the box.

In other cities they pay people to build ADUs! Streamlining the process for construction is a very good first step, but you're right that it's not the last!

9163 Transit Operators that work hard to provide service for the people of San Francisco cannot afford to live in the City. We make too much for City to give us affordable housing and don't earn enough to live in the City. What will you do for us? !You are not mayor material!
