Mayor Breed, I’d like to see a stronger pro-housing stance from you. Preservation is too often a byword for fighting needed new housing—which makes us lose affordability faster. Show us you won’t tolerate excuses about “preserving” low height and expensive single family homes.

@LondonBreed Preservation is great for people who already won the affordable housing lottery and held onto a unit, but what about newcomers to our city? Will you do anything as mayor to allow more market rate construction and density? -
To focus so heavily on preservation above all else seems like the sort of "screw you, got mine" attitude that we're supposed to be above as progressives. Will preserving + building new lottery units actually address the issue? Will you hit Ed Lee's 5k/year goal?
