You’re free to support whichever candidates and efforts you like, but it’s a fact that Dean’s decision to launch his measure now was intended to preempt Sonja.

Dean got the idea from
@SonjaTrauss, who made it part of her campaign in August: http://www.sonja2018.org/right_to_civil_counsel … Anyway the important thing is to get it done.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I think npos do have some structural incentives to do the right thing, and are generally more likely to see it as being in their political best interests not to make enemies of progressives and unions... But that's not always easy or automatic.

continued societal disinvestment in public housing means NPs are dependent on the private sector through in-lieu inclusionary fees or just straight up making their own REITs now which is a real slippery slope between a rock and a hard placehttps://www.npr.org/2014/02/11/275366027/nonprofits-pull-in-investors-to-tackle-housing-affordability …

but yeah, not all NPs are equally committed to their tenants and shouldn't be exempt from this ordinance
