Our reopening process is guided by data and science. COVID-19 cases are rising throughout CA. We're now seeing a rise in cases in SF too. Our numbers are still low but rising rapidly. As a result, we're temporarily delaying the re-openings that were scheduled for Monday.

If you are feeling symptomatic, get tested. If you are an essential worker or you need to leave the house for work, get tested. And have your family get tested too. Let’s protect each other so that we can safely reopen San Francisco.

Our public health experts will evaluate the data over the coming days to determine if it's safe to move forward. I know people are anxious to reopen--I am too. But we can't jeopardize the progress we've made. We'll continue to let you know as soon as decisions are made.

"Nobody should wait to get tested" -- one of my friends spent over two hours on the phone the other day calling 15 different places trying to get a test...

i hope your friend is ok. i was able to get tested same day. really easy. i’d recommend your friend go to https://datasf.org/covid19-testing-locations/ … and make an appt online. multiple locations have openings today. just checked. not sure why your friend needs to call anyone to book.

Walk around North Beach, Washington Square Park. Few face masks. Firm (but gentle) enforcement is required, Mayor.
