Teachers are being paid more on unemployment, very few want to go back into the classroom and risk COVID19. Shutdown has destroyed normal life.

Quality education is essential for the next generation, and every generation. Let us support teachers who have answered the call to do this great work. A child’s education should never suffer.

Can you add we SFMTA employees whose jobs are big but salary is so low that we easily qualify for the City's Low Income Housing programs & state prog? That's even if we work full time 365 days a year. The SFMTA offer back in 2015 for a $.25 pay increase spread over 5 yrs. Nice

Can’t we pull $50m from the multi-billion City budget, the $700m SFPD budget, or other failed programs?

When this parcel tax for schools was originally passed in 2018, the world was completely different. Back then, we thought we couldn't get more money for schools except by creating a new tax.

The world of 2020 is completely different. Homeowners and renters are hurting in unprecedented ways because of the COVID-19 economic meltdown. We've also woken up to realize that we are spending inordinate amounts of City money on unnecessary, overzealous policing.

It appears our budget per citizen is ~2x that of other cities... Why are we cutting everything across the board 10%? Should we not consider eliminating big chunks of the budget that are not efficient or effective?pic.twitter.com/QNCfAuhfxm

Interesting! I’ve been wondering this exact same thing. Where did you get the data? I’d love to drill down one step further on specific budget items if you have a link.
