Mayor there is very little that can be done in such a small space. We are talking 1-2 tables. This does not ameliorate the decrease in volume inside of restos. Where’s option for street closure with business clusters??? Not good enough if you want to keep your community afloat

Chinatown is where there are many restaurants but with narrow & often crowded sidewalks and streets. How would there be enough space to set up eating tables 6 feet apart?

Close the ‘downtown’ street in every neighborhood and let the bars and restaurants take them over! Valencia, Hayes, Clement, etc... that will bring the city back to life.

You should allow business districts to cluster and provide space like off the grid does. Even if on weekends or temporary it might be able to allow for enough tables to create a real chance at fiscal sense. This current policy is a lose lose for the city and businesses.

Hello, if many businesses on the same block want to use all or some of the street for business activities, businesses can apply together. More here: http://sf.gov/SharedSpaces You can also email

Can we close some commercial streets for cars? Castro, Hayes, Filmore, etc? That way restaurants could set more tables outside

Exciting! Let's extend use of public space to city's back-to-school plan. Imagine using OUTDOOR SPACES to safely and equitably LEARN OUTSIDE to avoid the irreparable academic slide students face during distance learning!

If there's a bulb-out for a bus stop, can a restaurant use the sidewalk as long as they leave 6' at the curb for the bus stop? I'm thinking of My Father's Kitchen on Divis. Wide sidewalk there, but there's a bus stop at the curb. Where can they put tables? cc

In a standard 9’ x 22’ stall there is not enough space for a 4’ wide ramp that would extend 6’ into the stall with a non compliant 3’ landing. If there is no adjacent business you can eek 2 tables, but with adj. business it‘s 1 table. And they are to pay for the setup too?
