This follows today’s announcement by Governor Newsom regarding modified statewide guidelines.
Locally, @SF_DPH will develop guidelines for businesses that are consistent with the state's guidelines, and the Health Officer will continue to make adjustments as needed.

I want to be clear that this pandemic is still very much ongoing. This is something that we're going to be dealing with for a long time and requirements to stay home as much as possible, practice social distancing, and wear face coverings at businesses and when in line continue.

Giving businesses the option to reopen and provide storefront pickup will provide some relief for everyone in our city—allowing some people to get back to work, while still protecting public health.

But the last thing we want is to see a spike in the number of cases or hospitalizations, so we’re going to be keeping close track of our key COVID-19 indicators and we'll be ready to make any adjustment needed to keep our community healthy. Lots of bars have fundraisers for their staff if you want to support them now. We drink cocktails and put a little in the virtual tip jar once a week
