I know this is not easy and you may be feeling restless. I feel the same way. But what we don't want is to relax restrictions too early, see new cases spike, and have to revert to tougher restrictions again.

Dr. Colfax will discuss more at our 1pm briefing today about what we're looking for surrounding a decrease in the number of cases, increased testing, aggressive contact tracing, and additional steps as we look to gradually reduce restrictions.https://twitter.com/LondonBreed/status/1254818062500413440 …

This is ridiculous.

No more ridiculous than running against Nancy Pelosi as a Republican in a city that has voted over 80% democrat in every election for the last decade.

Thank you
@LondonBreed for your leadership. I think being *very* clear about what is allowed and not would be helpful. A friend told me yesterday that going on a social distance walk with someone outside your household is punishable by jail & massive fines. Is that right...? -
I am concerned about the mental health of my single friends. Especially those living alone and laid off. I had a talk with one who sounded suicidal last week. I hope that we allow seeing friends in small doses, especially for people without housemates.

First, it was to avoid hospitals overwhelmed. Then, to flatten the curve. Hospitals are emptied. Patients forgo necessary treatment. Healthcare workers laid off, furloughed, paycut. What do you want to achieve? Zero case of covid? You guys trying to kill a spider with a hammer.

So true. Also the original projections were based off a wildly inaccurate fatality rate (the new antibody studies from NY, NYC, Miami, LA, and Santa Clara suggest it is FAR lower, around .25-.8%, and we know from data diff age groups are at diff risks, many much much much lower)
