We've been working tirelessly and have secured 1,536 hotel rooms for homeless residents and people in crowded living conditions. This is a massive undertaking and we're still continuing. But I won't sign legislation that isn't based in reality.https://medium.com/@LondonBreed/homelessness-hotels-and-covid-19-dac646fb6b51 …

Putting folks in hotels won't make a damn bit of difference if they leave to attend a dope emporium. You know better...pic.twitter.com/5k4lbdYocP

Let me explain to you what my reality is. I don't need all those things I just need a room. A room that I can actually afford. Get people off the streets before they die. People don't need to have all this stuff they just need to have a place to stay that's safe.

That's great. We should take advantage of this situation with limited pedestrian and vehicular traffic. This is opportune time to give the streets a good scrub down and make our city more beautiful.

They are doing more than scrubbing, lots of city construction occurs.pic.twitter.com/saQswe7y4x

The next logical step is enacting a zero-tolerance tent on street / sidewalk policy. If we are spending the money to house one, house all. It's impossible to walk to the grocery store, down Mission, South Van Ness or any number streets without obstruction.
