Agreed. "Hotel workers" (SRO's, shelters, etc) deal with layered issues; mental illness, drug addiction and homelessness - they need security, training, case management. It is not just simply housing them. This issue has been neglected for far too long.
Wouldn’t this be much easier if you arrested & deported all the drug dealers and enforced mandatory inpatient detox / treatment for the addicts?
If it were that easy they would of done it a long time ago. People have civil rights and arresting and deporting people doesn't solve the problem it just fills up jails.

Not easy? Its impossible. I've been homeless since 2009. And I and most homeless do not trust City Hall. So how can you get us to move into a hotel only to kick us to the curb post-COVID-19?
