Here's the latest on what's happening in SF today to respond to COVID-19: Two individuals at a shelter tested positive, and we've learned they had been in contact with the 19 people who had been moved to the new shelter at Moscone West. All are being moved to hotel rooms.

Moscone West is being cleaned. Final setup is still being completed to limit capacity, add partitions, and increase spacing. It will serve people who have recovered from COVID-19 or people who had been quarantined, but have since tested negative and still need a place to stay.

We're prioritizing vulnerable populations, such as people 60+ years old and people with underlying conditions susceptible to COVID-19, for hotels rooms and moving them in now. This will allow for appropriate spacing in our existing shelter locations.

Gov. Newsom today announced that CPMC Pacific campus will open up 290 beds. This is an important step to increase capacity. Dr. Colfax today said that San Francisco has increased our available ICU beds by 91%, up to a total of 530. We've increased acute beds by 52% to 1,608.

          London Breed Retweeted Jeffrey Tumlin

Director Tumlin discussed today the difficult decisions @sfmta_muni is having to make to keep critical lines running while ensuring spacing on those lines. Muni is going to be severely impacted. Please see this thread for more info:https://twitter.com/jeffreytumlin/status/1246989907983101952 …

          London Breed added,

          Jeffrey Tumlin @jeffreytumlin
I never thought I'd say this: Please don't take Muni if you have other options. Muni is only for essential workers + trips. We're short >30% of operators. Monday will be a mess. To maintain service on workhorse lines, we need to eliminate many low ridership lines starting Tuesday

One important thing to note from our announcement this morning of the drive-thru and walk-thru testing: Muni drivers will be eligible as well. Keeping our Muni drivers healthy is essential to keeping San Francisco moving.https://twitter.com/LondonBreed/status/1247209561808760832 …

We're opening a drive/walk-thru COVID-19 testing center at Pier 30/32 today for our front-line workers so they can either return to work with the confidence that they're not infecting others, or self-quarantine and get the help they need. https://twitter.com/MyrPressOffice/status/1247208419200655362 …
