Effective at midnight, San Francisco will require people to stay home except for essential needs.
Necessary government functions & essential stores will remain open.
These steps are based on the advice of public health experts to slow the spread of #COVID19.

Hi
@LondonBreed - District 5 resident here, want to double tap on this question for alignment and clarity. The http://sf.gov FAQ explicitly states that at-home care for children for non-medical purposes or non-essential employees is prohibited under the order. -
Sorry for the confusion, we've been working to make this as clear as possible. Here's an overview from
@SF_DPH, which is being added to the FAQs:pic.twitter.com/lycTgca0rd

Hi Mayor breed, how is this consistent with the city's guidance in this FAQ?pic.twitter.com/Ul0LGb3SAe

@LondonBreed this is extremely confusing given the conflict between this tweet and the FAQ and I am trying to figure out child care while working at home. - 3 more replies

Even if the parents are working from home? Or this applies to all nannies?

Dear mayor
@LondonBreed could you please clarify regarding the childcare. On the web site says nanny can just work in medical situation.pic.twitter.com/UAiNBbaMTN

We need clarification here. The whole nanny workforce is still able to go into work or just nannies of essential employees? This is very unclear and a major topic in both nanny and parenting groups.

This tweet is being shared in the 14k+ member Main Street Mamas FB group as justification that all home daycares can keep operating and for everyone’s nanny and babysitter to keep traveling around like normal (for non-essential employees). Surely this violates the order?
