I just spoke at the Board of Supervisors with another update on the City's actions regarding coronavirus. The steps being taken to contain and respond to the virus are necessarily disruptive, and they're having an impact on our residents and our economy.

We need to support out small businesses, and the workers they employ, during this uncertainty. We’re examining everything from tax extensions and penalty relief for our small businesses, to low interest loans & credit relief.

I’m working with the Controller, business community, and non-profits to make sure that lower-wage workers can be supported to help cover costs and lost wages, including private sector workers. We're working with the state to expand unemployment and disability benefits.

We know that safe and stable housing is an essential component of staying healthy. I am working to immediately halt and prevent any evictions for San Francisco residents resulting from a non-payment of rent related to coronavirus.
