Next week, San Francisco will celebrate Market Street finally being returned to pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders! After years of discussion, activism, and planning, 2020 is the year we will truly put people first on Market Street.https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Car-free-Market-What-happens-to-the-side-14999923.php …

Great to hear that Market Street will be back in the hands of its rightful owner and true steward – the homeless of San Francisco!

Make that: the junkies. Seriously; Market Street has 5th Avenue potential, but looks like a 3rd world street. I am afraid to walk down there with my baby at daylight. Not to even mention evening....It should be your city's most famous street.

Limit Uber and lyft now, city streets are completely congested by their double parking all over downtown.

I’ll believe it when I see it enforced. Let’s wager how long it’ll last before Uber/Lyft start whining, crying and play victim to discrimination... and watch SF City Hall buckle down to pressure

Meanwhile, in the rest of the mean streets of SF, drivers feel they have carte blanche as there is little to no enforcement of many moving vehicles. Park 1/2 inch into the red and you get a ticket, but run through a stop sign, you're home free. #SFPD needs to enforce the law.

        *moving violations, not "vehicles".

We will have to see. Hopefully the confusion doesn’t create a larger pedestrian safety issue.
