The status quo means higher rents. The status quo means a continued rise in homelessness and human suffering on our streets. This is an issue of equity, and it’s an issue of urgency.

The YIMBY movement in SF does not understand the historical reason why
#SB50 wrong for#California. They failed to work with community groups to address current equity challenges in affordable housing. SF legislators are the ones to be scaling Statewide housing policy.

This legislation has not addressed equity concerns. It’s doesn’t address affordable homeownership, gentrification displacement, poverty trap AMI categories, LMI homeowners concerns, etc. SF is the City of urban renewal, Justin Herman, Chinese Exclusion & Japanese Internment.

I see everyone attacking
@LondonBreed but I do not understand why citizens do not understand that this is a supply and demand issue. #1 cause of homelessness has been the increase in prices of housing. SF + cali needs to dramatically increase the # of housing and fast -
Having 75% of the population as renters is the real problem. As no one is truly housed. This legislation calls for building more vacant luxury apartments like 181 Fremont @ t/ Salesforce Transit Center. Multimillion dollar apartments. This is NOT a solution to the housing crisis.

San Franciscans don’t need the State of California to solve the problems of San Francisco. We need a mayor and BOS that have to courage to take on the unions, social justice voting blocks and all of the groups with empathy sounding names that get wealthy off the taxpayers.
