But that's not all. I also announced that we'll be opening another 2,000 placements over the next two years. This means more supportive housing, drop-in centers, behavioral health treatment & shelters. We simply need more places for people to go and we're going to create them!
We also know that we need more than just shelters. Thank you Mayor @LondonBreed. As a psychiatrist working at a hospital which serves the Tenderloin & other communities, I can say for certain that finding placement options for homeless patients has always been challenging. An increase in shelters & housing options = good for all.

Opening 1000 beds doesn’t make it okay to order your @SFPD to run people sleeping on the street out by throwing away the little stuff they have . Giving them tickets and taking them to jail for sleeping on the street is also not okay .
Hope this is permanent partial help for those who need it and leases don’t expire in a year and the homeless will all be kicked out.
Why did we outsource our section 8 program? I sent you an email a long time ago and I have not heard a response. My life story has been published twice in SF and I was and am happy to receive section 8. Great job on the new navigation center.
