Today we met with employees from the South of Market Mental Health Center, which connects people struggling with mental health or substance use disorders to treatment and housing. The majority of their clients are experiencing homelessness when they first visit the Center.pic.twitter.com/bFcYdQmxon
These employees are on the front lines of our City’s efforts to help some of our most vulnerable residents. They understand the barriers that people face when getting into and staying in treatment, and how sometimes it can take months – if not years – to help someone get better.
UrgentCareSF will expand staffing and capacity – feedback we got directly from employees like those Director of Mental Health Reform Dr. Anton Nigusse Bland and I met with today – so places like this center can help more people off the streets and into treatment and housing.
