This is a big deal for public health and addressing the drug crisis in our country. Safe injection sites save lives and help provide access to treatment for those in need.https://www.npr.org/2019/10/02/766500743/judge-rules-plan-for-safehouse-drug-injection-site-in-philadelphia-can-go-forwar?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwAR1Ed9A2DjiZ4b5GupXvrRn1Z4EwB5e0jrI1wcgsjKfEku17WAkT3BuON64 …

We already have them; they are called “Streets”.

The drug abusers already use every street, corner, hole in the wall, etc to do their drugs. They do drugs on our homes, businesses, near our children and schools, and at City Hall. Do you really think the vast majority of them will choose to use at a SIS?! Get a clue!

Yes. From someone from Vancouver, this is a good starting point. Ideally, injectable treatment clinics would be the goal (safe supply provided by a pharmacist for self-injection). No ODs. No thefts/selling sex to get drugs. Thank you for your work. Stay strong.

Are you willing to invest in preventing the emergence of an illicit drug economy just outside of the safe injection zone? Because that seems key to preventing it from becoming a crime magnet. I'd legalize all the drugs myself, but the USA isn't ready for that yet IMO.

Of course this strengthens the stranglehold of HIC on this city. Where’s your amicus brief on city of Boise v Martin??? If you must give the addicts more of this city then put this thing next to your house. You hate the homed especially those of us in D6
