If the President wants to talk about homelessness, we are committed to working on actual solutions, like adding 1,000 new shelter beds by next year and working to pass a $600 million affordable housing bond to create more badly needed housing.
We’re dedicating services and treatment for our most vulnerable suffering from mental illness and addiction. We will continue to do this work, and we wish the federal government would offer support on solutions that help people exit homelessness.
Thanks Mayor but we need more. #SF has an opportunity to be an international sensation at ending #homelessness. Turn #TreasureIsland into a #FreshStart campus. Roundup your 8,000 homeless. Bunk them at TI. The island used to process over 12,000 military personnel per day. Do it.

All positive actions but we must also create jobs for that pay wages for individuals/ families to stay in SF. The economy has driven people out of all races from SF. It has become the "Have's and the Have Not's"! We appreciate all your hardwork in making changes for the better!
Up zoning will fix homelessness faster than bonds and hand outs.

Needles
Feces/biowaste
Dealer presence
Street crime
Camps

I am living in a shelter that takes $470 of my general assistance money each month but cant put a dent in their bed bug problem, clean their bathrooms, or offer any sort of resources to help work my way out of here. How can I get a place of my own.....
And get out of the very place that fuels my crippling social anxiety and ptsd? I'd honestly love to have my own place and work towards self sufficiency.
There has to be a compromise between your city and the federal government on this matter. Be open to outside federal scrutiny at least for now.
