This is a good start but the city is becoming more dangerous every day. I've called 311 a couple of times reporting people half-standing up on the street, clearly high, and their response was 'if they're not disturbing anyone we can't do anything'. Let's see some results.

High service users know the system and aren't the ones needing the most help. The severely mentally ill do not have the wherewithal to navigate the city's bureaucracy, know what services are available to them or even understand they need services. Just walk down Mission St.

When you give out millions of needles a year what do you expect. I was in SF yesterday and I can’t bring my children anymore. This is sad. What are you doing with the billions allocated to fight this epidemic?

"Tagreting?" How un-PC of you. That's not the language we expect of our leaders.

This group includes many of the patients whom we serve here at
@SaintFrancis_SF from the#Tenderloin & other communities. We will continue to provide acute psychiatric care for anyone in need who comes to our Emergency Dept or as a transfer from another facility. Keep well!

At long last. It's not hard to identify this cohort. Requiring 8 - 5150s is an unnecessary and cruel prerequisite to being conserved. But even if it was easier -and there's no evidence of an approach for cutting to the quick- there aren't enough beds (or$) to serve 4,000 in-need.
