We need not just affordable housing, but ALL types of housing. Diverse neighborhoods, have diverse housing projects. New SF construction (which should be entirely multi-unit housing) should neither exclude, nor be exclusively low income. Build diverse, not segregated housing.

In 2007, I shut down a project that was one whole block of low-income in Pgh. Not NIMBYISM, but to save from stigma and isolation. Pushed the communuty developers to integrate across the neighborhood with just the facts, backyard BBQs and a petition. This is absurd urbanism.

Homelessness is more tied into drug addiction and their inability to hold down a job to pay rent. Affordable housing for first responders and teachers is important but putting the drug dealers in prison is more important. People are dying on the streets because of meth, heroin
