Thank you @LondonBreed! This initiative will save lives of people on bikes, pedestrians, and other street users. Little fun bike tip: I learned recently to use 'people on bikes' instead of 'bicyclists' because not all bicycle riders identify as bicyclists. #btwd

Charge $200 for blocking a lane, and enforce! The city will make millions.

I calculated $5000/hour on a single block of Valencia alone

Awesome. Can we also hire more bike police to actually force them to stop at stop signs too?
-
red herring, since car drivers, 1000 times more dangerous, rarely stop at stop signs.

Yes, and bikers should follow the law and respect pedestrians and motorists as well. We all need to be safe.

Increase walking & biking and decrease driving to make us all safer and healthier. People biking are already so much safer for other road users and pedestrians than anybody driving. Just look at the data.

If only bike riders respected pedestrians as much as they want respect from car drivers.

That’s a good point. Educating cyclists and enforcing cycling laws is essential to safe commuting as well. Luckily, I think a protected bike lane will also make pedestrians safer.
