These are PRECISELY the projects that should be rejected if you are truly interested in housing affordable to low-income residents (which you are NOT). It was just another luxury highrise with a couple of "affordable" units renting at well over $2000. solely for 'approval'.

Now instead of 19 BMR units there will be 0. 19 > 0.

All because the building will cast a shadow over a portion of the park at the end of the day? This is a missed opportunity.

-
no, because the building casts a shadow on the ONLY full size public park in our neighborhood. SOMA has drastically less open space than other neighborhoods- we have to protect the little we have

And this was 30% affordable, higher than the city requires, and funded a bathroom attendant for the park. Why would any developer attempt to provide benefits like that for the community after seeing what happened here? Thanks Mayor Breed for talking sense.
-
percentages are misleading- this was only 1 unit of affordable housing more than what is required by law.

Very disappointing to see my supervisor,
@AaronPeskin, vote against this. Apparently he does not care about San Francisco's historically severe housing shortage. -
Disappointed but not surprised. I suggest you organize with your neighbors and deliver him a disappointment at the ballot box. This self professed “environmental advocate” has made a lifetime career as a supervisor opposing pro environmental development and transit improvements

other than tweeting, what are you doing to fix this?

These appeals go to the BOS under city charter, so a mayor can’t do much here. But she’s doing a lot for housing: cleared the ADU backlog, affordable housing bond, put a proposal to streamline 100% affordable on Nov ballot, and endorsed SB50 the More Homes Act.
