Yes, you do that by getting rid of government, getting rid of rent control, and repealing the restrictions on construction.

Well said, Mayor! We all are impacted by the housing crisis. If not by exorbitant rents and home prices, then by arduous commutes that are long, expensive and bad for the environment!

Unfortunately I fall into this camp. Too expensive to move closer to work. Even if I moved closer to work, my wife would add to her commute. Catch-22 based on locations of viable employment for us.

Unless you cap the housing costs building more homes in areas that are high density work environments will not allow people without means to move there. They will just be bought by those with more money and poor and lower middle class will still be in commute hell.
