Today, @SFPD released 2018 year-end public safety stats, which showed progress in a number of areas. There is still plenty of work to be done to make SF a safer place for all of residents, and I'm committed to building on this early progress.

I've worked with the
@SFPD to expand foot patrols in UN Plaza, Mid-Market, and Tenderloin, which research has shown to decrease assaults and thefts. I've invested in training 250 additional police officers and 90 dispatcher recruits to serve the City.Show this thread -
As I've said, we have more work to do to make our neighborhoods safe, strengthen ties between the police and our communities, and continue important reforms to the Department and I look forward to working with

Where's the demographic report for this? For a city that is 2% African-American, black people should not lead in arrests for any category. Or San Francisco, we've got a problem.
