  Having a meeting and talking about more property taxes is hardly exciting progress. These are talking points, not solutions. Incompetence, inaction and lack of accountibility have been key factors as have NIMBYism and archaic zoning and planning laws.

  Surely the most important fix regarding housing is the tax system? Taxing output in preference to location values transfers incomes from workers to landowners, so then capitalised into selling prices. Is this taboo subject matter? Or do people really believe its a supply issue?
