San Francisco air quality is now Purple (very unhealthy). Everyone, especially people with medical conditions and respiratory diseases, should avoid outdoor activities if possible.

We will continue to push out alerts through our ALERT-SF texting service. Text your zip code to 888-777 to receive real-time emergency alerts. Visit http://AirNow.gov for air updates. Again, please take the necessary precautions to avoid outdoor exposure if possible.

Few more items: Muni will be FREE tomorrow so people can avoid traveling outdoors. City departments are coordinating multi-lingual outreach so all of our communities are informed. And while SFUSD classes are cancelled tomorrow,
@RecParkSF centers across the city will be open.Show this thread

Great!
Can we enact the cold snap protocol for shelters and allow individuals to go directly to a shelter to get a bed?? Rather than wait on outdoor lines or spend time outside until a RC can get them a bed this protocol can provide immense relief, especially for weekend beds! -
Aaaaaaaaaand crickets from
@LondonBreed. I'm disappointed, as there is already a plan and process for this. Plus, imagine the reduction in tents she could claim on Monday!

Distributing masks to the general public -- or even a reply to your comment -- would be expecting too much, I guess. This is a slow moving disaster that will likely kill people. The City has dropped the ball, Walgreens don't carry them, and most hardware stores are sold out.

what about the rest of the city? there are no N95 masks anywhere to be found for purchase in the city. it's great that you are taking care of the homeless but everyone needs these.
