Supervised Injection Sites have been proven to decrease deaths from overdoses; improve client health; and, decrease HIV transmission. I visited a SIS in Copenhagen. Our Mayor should be applauded!

These “useless addicts” are people. You said so. As a person yourself, can’t you find it in your heart to help people physically dependent on drugs? How you treat others speaks volumes as to your character!

Actually I have helped these people w/ drug addictions who were given every opportunity & resources to get cleaned. F*ck I even set up in-patient stays, got all their prescribed meds & took their asses there....so don't tell me I don't have the heart. Been there done that.

Most people can’t get clean. The AMA says chemical dependency is a disease. A rehab expert says they just try to reduce their relapses. Mental illness not withstanding. People CAN and do recover. Why not explore solutions? You’re right about Education! Education is key!

I pay very hefty property taxes, have produced zero children, live /work in Oakland among others. This problem is world wide. Ca is the place where problems are solved. We can’t produce solutions if all we do is talk.
