We're adding five new Pit Stops (public restrooms) citywide and expanding hours at five locations. We're also increasing investments in our @FixItTeamSF and the Downtown Streets Team to quickly address safety and cleanliness issues.
We're working with @SFAIDSFound to hire 10 new workers to clean up syringes and adding 3 new needle disposal boxes. This month we announced a first in the nation Safe Injection Site demonstration at @GLIDEsf--these sites can reduce public drug use and provide access to treatment.
We must do more to help our homeless population get care and shelter, which is why I'm increasing funding for residential care facilities and leading the charge to reform our conservatorship laws to help those suffering from severe mental illness & addiction.
This is going to take a sustained, focused effort and I'm committed to seeing it through.
A few days ago I came across the street team (thnx!) picking up needles as I walked my pooch. Also, I witnessed people helping people at the encampment health fair. 
Great! My son and I had the pleasure of witnessing someone shooting up between his toes as we left our home today #Delancey and #Bryant #SouthBeach Same location a homeless man lived, who threatened to shoot up (shotgun style) #BaysideVillage a few months ago! #PleaseHelp
On way to Muni yesterday I noticed someone injecting (in belly, so maybe insulin?) on Hickory just off Van Ness, so that might be a good mid-Market disposal box location. Thanks!
Help me work with the community in Veterans Alley to get a needle box there. Help me approach the business owners and residents who walk past these sites everyday in our alley please
