There are a couple of things that I think make it work. * It's something we've all seen so many times that we can quote long sections of it. * We have a lot of warm feelings towards both the actors and the characters.

I don't think it HAS to be a movie where we can round up the old team. I think that, oh, if the Marvel actors wanted to get together to do a table read of something old but very familiar (like "It's a Wonderful Life," suggested below) that could totally work.
