Like are there scientists who are still saying hey it’s ok to have kids, they won’t die horrific deaths due to famine, war over resources, etc. Wtf lmao

Hi is anyone feeling extremely anxious and severe existential dread about climate change? Is there a climate scientist who can tell me yes, things are really bad but it won’t be the end of all existence on the planet in 20 or 50 years? Thanks

I just finished my degree in environmental science w a chem concentration and unless we make some major societal shifts like right now, it's going to be bad. There's a lot of reliance on carbon capture tech that's not nearly developed/produced enough yet

Also this is called climate grief and it's a very real thing. It can make it hard to want to pursue progress in terms of climate change.

Hundreds of millions of people will die. Wars will be fought. Economic output will crash. Adopt children if you can and commit to fight everyday to hasten the new world which will be born out of the ashes. Hopefully that world is more like the Star Trek universe.
