Shorting is hardly the only financial terrorism that should be criminalized, but its a good start. After it should come criminalization of stock buybacks, executive options grants, and granting voting power to non-owner trustees of investment holding companies & pension funds.

These are all serious frauds against the public and the actual owners of companies. The most pernicious is the looting of corporate treasuries by using company profits to buy back stock which is then reisused as executive compensation via options grants. Basically theft.
