Dying outside is really hard to do. I spent 6+ hours a day outside in 100 acres of woods as a 10 year old (with a gun) NOT DYING. Anyone actually dying outside is gonna be incredibly drunk in harsh conditions...

Depends on where you are. Out in the AZ desert, tough bastages who grew up in Guatemala and never had AC will dehydrate and die in hours. The wilderness is much scarier than city dwellers realize.

The lack of humidity, plus extreme heat and lack of shade takes a big toll on your body. In humid places your nasal passages and so on absorb water from the air, so just breathing keeps you hydrated to a degre. In desert, every time you breathe you dry yourself out.

If there's one thing toddlers are known for it's crossing 12 miles of rough terrain in 8 hours.
