A city of 10,000 with one murder a year has the same murder rate as a city of 100,000 that has 10 murders a year. Population size isn't the issue.

My point about rates is not that the farmers are complaining invalidly, but rather the liberal talking point that the rates have been going down should not be accepted uncritically.

I agree with that. Your point about crime going down because people change their behavior to deal with it is a good one. Now the white farmers invest lots of money & time into setting up ways to protect themselves - things that wouldn't be needed in a sane county.
