Karnataka is the strangest state. It loses a LOT in terms of resource allocation due to demographic divergence and Hindi imposition and all that. But ends up voting BJP, the party that stands for north India’s demographic might as a tool.

Slow moving water and ponds with lots of submerged vegetation is perfect habitat for northern dwarf sirens (Pseudobranchus striatus). This is a small female with a peculiar pink stripe rather than the typical gold.

Sketch portrait. Secodontosaurus, the lesser known, long-snouted relative of Dimetrodon (which usually gets all the attention). I’m not super happy with it but I don’t have more time today to keep tweaking it. This animal has a weird skull.

Barinasuchus arveloi; a huge Sebecosuchian from the Paleogene-Neogene of South America. Though the Cenozoic is known as the "Age of Mammals", South America remained a veritable "lost world" where Archosaurs remained large and in charge.

This sassy feline is a Javan fishing cat that I photographed while in Jakarta, Indonesia. With short legs, a broad head, and short tail, fishing cats have a powerful build, weighing up to 26 pounds. While the bulk of this cat’s diet is fish, it will also take other aquatic prey.

Grey seals have been filmed clapping to each other underwater. This is the first time this behaviour has been seen in any marine mammal 👏 👏 👏
