New England has a reputation of being very Democratic but electing Republican Governors. I think one reason is because of the large number of Independents. This is a map of voter registration by town in New England (excluding Vermont, which doesn't have partisan registration).pic.twitter.com/I2B1TMCc7Z

Darien CT voted for Clinton by double digits, very surprised to see an R advantage in registration there. The suburbs are trending very fast.

Darien & New Canaan have trended hard left very fast. They were still strongly Republican through the Obama years. I'm sure you'll see that registration advantage dissipate fast.

Manchester’s Republican lean is bewildering. Unrelated... but since we’re talking about New England, this is my chance to re-up this:https://twitter.com/browntailedhawk/status/1114161391722614784?s=21 …

Good morning back, Would it be possible to draw two DEM-leaning districts while keeping Lewiston (Golden's hometown) in the ME-02?

It's been changing though; they did finally elect a Democrat for mayor with @JoyceCraigNH during their last mayoral elections

Interesting map; thanks. But you've touched on one of our pet peeves: calling unaffiliated voters "Independents" risks confusion w/ the far-right American Independent Party. It's always best to call them "unaffiliated."
