To pave way for gender equality, there is need for a public reorientation on issues related to how human rights applies to both gender; how one is not a lesser human.

This can be achieved by empowering and ensuring equal human rights to economic resources such as land and property, universal access to healthcare.

These wide gaps and disparities requires Government intervention, through sound policies, to empower lower income earners and promote economic inclusion of all regardless of sex, race or ethnicity. Income inequality also requires global solutions, since it is a global problem.

Income inequality is on the rise. The richest 10 percent have up to 40 percent of global income, whereas the poorest 10 percent earn only between 2 to 7 percent.
